The poor condition of the roads in Cuba continues to be one of the main causes of accidents on the island. This Friday, a truck fell into a huge pothole that spans half of a street in the town of Banes, Holguín.

A report in the Facebook group "BUS & TRUCK ACCIDENTS, for more experience and fewer victims" shows the overturned vehicle after falling into the pothole, which was also filled with water.

According to some neighbors in the area, the truck belonged to a cooperative.

The internet user stated that the day before, a shocking accident also occurred in that locality, when an electric company car lost its brakes, hit a tree, and ended up on the sidewalk.

According to the comments on the publication, many drivers claim that it is impossible to keep vehicles in good condition due to the country's poor roads.

"I don't know with what shame the police can demand that your vehicle be in good technical condition when the roads are completely destroyed; there is not a car's suspension that can last six months with all those potholes," a driver stated.

"Except for the government, everything is falling apart," another one concluded.
