A Cuban woman who owns a food store in Miami discovered on the security cameras a man who was robbing the business and alerted the Police, who went to the scene and caught the thief red-handed.
Rosailys Casas, a native of Bejucal, Mayabeque, is the owner of the Rossy supermarket located at 3445 NW 27th Ave, in Allapattah, a neighborhood in the metropolitan area of the city.
According to what was told to Local 10, on Friday, around 1:30 am, he woke up with a "bad feeling" and decided to check his cameras. That's when he saw the man with his face covered with his shirt, going through the establishment looking for money and putting items in his backpack.
"He comes straight to the cash register, took the money that is here, had a backpack, and loaded it. Everything he could take, he took," he declared to Telemundo.
The police arrived at the store while the criminal was still inside; he was arrested without resisting.
He was identified as Ariel Duvergel, 54 years old, a homeless man with permanent residence in Norcross, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.
The authorities revealed that he forced entry into the premises through a hole he opened in the wall of a car dealership adjoining Rosailys' premises.
The Cuban businesswoman believes that Duvergel is the man who stole from her business about three months ago, when he took $10,000 in cash, as well as tobacco and medicines.
"I feel that God was good, God helped me. Thank God this time it wasn't worse," he told Local 10.
"These businesses are small, it's a way to make a living but it's sad, it's tough what's happening," he told Telemundo.
The individual is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and charged with multiple counts of robbery, criminal damage, and grand theft.
He appeared in the criminal court of Miami-Dade County and was imposed a bond of $13,000.
