Donald Trump's presidential campaign reported that the former president is "fine" and is "being checked at a local medical center" after an incident with a firearm occurred on Saturday afternoon during his rally in Pennsylvania.

President Trump thanked law enforcement and emergency services for their swift action during this atrocious act," the campaign stated in a press release.

Her advisors did not provide additional details, but they assured that more information about the event will be available soon.

Apparently Trump was shot in his right ear while addressing hundreds of his supporters in Pennsylvania, where the alleged shooter was taken down.

While he was speaking, gunshots were heard and Donald Trump put his hand to his ear, from which what appeared to be a thread of blood was coming out. Immediately he was escorted off the stage, not without asking for a moment to raise his fist.

It is expected that Trump will survive, according to two law enforcement officials who informed NBC News.

The Secret Service confirmed in X that Trump is safe and that the incident is under investigation.

President Joe Biden, who is in Delaware, has been informed about the incident, according to a senior official at the White House.

Several figures in American politics such as Vice President Mike Pence, and Senator Marco Rubio, one of the potential vice presidential candidates if Trump wins the elections, have published messages of solidarity with the Republican.
