Trump will maintain the policy of his previous administration towards Cuba if reelected.

To lift the embargo, Cuba must release all political prisoners, call for free elections, and stop exporting its failed revolution, stated Trump's campaign.

The Republican candidate, Donald Trump, will maintain the guidelines outlined for Cuba in his previous administration if he returns to the White House.

Jaime Florez, Spanish spokesperson for Trump's campaign, stated in an interview with Martí Noticias, that if the Republican wins the elections, he will maintain the guidelines of his administration, based especially on "reversing the normalization of diplomatic relations that Barack Obama initiated for nothing in return."

Regarding the sanctions against Cuba and the embargo, he stated that the solutions to these depend on Havana, not on the United States.

"If Cuba wants to solve these problems, it has to do the three basic things that we have been asking for a long time," he explained.

They are the unconditional release of all political prisoners, calling for free elections with the participation of multiple parties and international observation, and putting an end to exporting their failed revolution to other countries, especially to other nations in Latin America.

"This embargo thing is a total fallacy, no country buys as many things from the United States as Cuba does, so that story about the blockade has to end," Florez emphasized.

Regarding the alleged Chinese espionage bases on the island, the spokesman stated that they are unacceptable.

"There cannot be military bases in Cuba or anywhere else in the hemisphere," he emphasized.

Trump was officially proclaimed as the candidate for the upcoming elections on Monday during the Republican National Convention taking place in Milwaukee.

Last Saturday, he was the victim of an attack during a rally in Pennsylvania, where he was shot and injured in his right ear. This incident has given a political boost to his presidential campaign that Trump is taking full advantage of.
