The Russian airline Rossiya will resume its flights from Moscow to Havana starting on October 13th, initially with a weekly frequency.
The airline company reported that tickets are now on sale on the Aeroflot website for Sunday flights.
According to the airline itself, cited by the Cuban news agency Prensa Latina, the destination Havana has a high demand among Russian travelers, who consider it one of the main tourist attractions of the Island, along with its beaches.
It was Rossiya who resumed the direct air service of the Aeroflot group between the two capitals last December, which was suspended during the pandemic.
In the few months that Rossiya's new route operated (from December to May), around 20,000 passengers used their flights.
At that time, two flights from Moscow were departing, one at 8:40 am on Wednesdays and the other at 10:50 am on Sundays, arriving in Havana at 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm respectively. The return flights departed from Havana at 6:15 pm, arriving in Russia at 3:15 pm the next day.
The first flight took off on Sunday, December 24 from Sheremetyevo International Airport to the Cuban capital.
On July 1st of last year, operations between Cuba and Russia were restored, when the airline Nordwind resumed flights to Varadero and Cayo Coco.
