A Cuban resident in Nebraska, identified on TikTok as @asael8912, shared a video addressing criticisms about the living conditions of a compatriot residing in Grand Island.
In his video, Asael expressed his disagreement with the opinions of the young woman, who mentioned that the early closing of nightclubs, the lack of beaches, and the occurrence of thefts in some cities as negative aspects of living in Nebraska.
However, for him, these points are not valid reasons to discourage Cubans who wish to move to Nebraska, and he specifically dedicated his words to "Cubans who are planning to come live here."
"Here there is sunshine for malanga and its produce stand," he commented in his extensive video, where he stated that there is work available for everyone, regardless of their immigration status.
In his words, he exemplified with his own experience and shared how he managed to find a job despite the initial difficulties, while emphasizing that with effort, any Cuban can thrive in Nebraska.
Obviously, if you don't have documents, you will have a little more trouble, like I did at first, but I managed to get $16 per hour in the end and I survived with that, then I got up to $23, and so on, when I had my papers," he said.
Furthermore, he refuted the criticisms about the lack of recreational activities and encouraged his compatriots, "If there's a state to start, to rise up and build a good future and capital, it's Nebraska."
The video has received several comments on TikTok: "I liked your response, I also think that not everyone is lucky, each one has their own light"; "Your sincerity is appreciated, well done!!!!"; "You are a good person"; "Here in Ohio, there are also two taxes, federal and state," they said.
