The Cuban community in exile has once again shown its solidarity, helping a single mother who lost everything in a recent fire.
The Cuban influencer Yolanda Capote Uz, known on Instagram for her profile Analogías de Lola, shared a video showing the collection of donations in Miami.
At 11:30 pm, a rented van arrived at the house where a neighbor is temporarily hosting Suanny and her daughter. There, they delivered all the items that different families had sent them.
Among the donations were furniture, lamps, clothing, food, and appliances. All items are in good condition so that the affected individuals can rebuild their lives as soon as possible.
The young mother expressed: "I thank you very much. Look at everything I have! The only thing I'm missing is a place to live."
Suanny is looking for a studio or a one-bedroom apartment. She needs a rental in Miami between $1,300 and $1,600 per month to live with her five-year-old daughter.
The fire occurred last week. Influencer Dairon Cano made this case public and started a fundraising campaign for Suanny and her daughter.
The Cuban woman was living in a rental and suffered a fire in the kitchen that spread throughout the apartment. Mother and daughter emerged unscathed, but they lost all their belongings and are alone in the United States.
This Monday, a neighbor took her in, but the housing is small and the accommodation is temporary. They urgently need to find an affordable rental in Miami before the school year starts in August.
