Trump accepts the Republican presidential nomination: "I will secure the border from day one."

Trump referred in his speech to Venezuela, Cuba, the gangs of El Salvador, emigration, and the economy.

On a night filled with symbolism and well-known rhetoric, Donald Trump officially accepted the Republican nomination for the presidency of the United States on Thursday for the elections on November 5, and although a renewed leader was expected, he quickly raised his old anti-immigrant rhetoric.

During his speech at the Fiserv Forum, Trump promised to seal the border from day one and complete the construction of the wall with Mexico, reiterating his stance against undocumented immigration, reported BBC.

The beginning of the speech indicated a more moderate tone with a call for unity: "I present myself to be president of all the United States, not just half"; but the Republican quickly shifted to his more well-known rhetoric.

He also predicted an "incredible victory" in the presidential elections in November and referred to Venezuela, Cuba, the gangs in El Salvador, emigration, and the economy.

Trump referred to the Russian submarines that arrived in Cuba in June: "The nuclear submarines are operating 60 miles off the coast of Cuba. Did you know? If I were the one leading this country and we had nuclear submarines and Cuba, all the headlines would say: what's wrong with our president," he expressed.

The climax of his speech came when he referred to undocumented immigration as an "invasion" and promised to secure the border from the first day of his possible return to the White House. "I will complete the wall, which I have already built in large part," he assured, reiterating his 2016 commitment to build an extensive barrier between the United States and Mexico.

Trump also committed to carrying out "the largest deportation operation in the history of this country" and criticized the immigration policies of the current administration, promising a radical change in his approach to border security.

In the realm of foreign policy, Trump accused the Biden administration of weakening the United States' position in the world, referring to the withdrawal from Afghanistan and the conflicts in Ukraine and Taiwan. "I will end all international crises," he stated, promising to restore peace and American leadership on the global stage.

Finally, Trump called for unity and requested the support of all voters, regardless of their past affiliation. "I promise to bring back the American dream," he concluded, inviting citizens to believe in a better future under his leadership.

The convention, which lasted four days, was a reflection of the cohesion within the Republican Party, in contrast to the visible divisions among the Democrats regarding Joe Biden's candidacy.

The speakers, ranging from family members to congressmen and former advisors, portrayed Trump as a leader who loves his country and cares about its citizens, overlooking past controversies and his pending legal issues.

One of the most emotional moments of the night was when Trump recounted the attack he suffered during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, thanking those present for their calmness and paying tribute to Corey Comperatore, a volunteer firefighter who lost his life protecting others. This account revealed a vulnerable side of the former president, although he quickly returned to his usual rhetoric.
