The Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, asked for support on Tuesday for the Republican candidate in the presidential elections, Donald Trump, emphasizing the need for a leader who is active on a daily basis to lead the country.
"Let's send Joe Biden back to his basement and send Donald Trump back to the White House," he said during his speech on the second day of the Republican National Convention, which is taking place in Milwaukee.
At the event, which was attended by Trump, DeSantis argued that the current president, Joe Biden, is not qualified to fulfill his responsibilities.
"Our enemies do not limit their schemes between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. We need a commander in chief who can lead 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The United States cannot afford four more years of a weekend presidency under Bernie," he stated.
In his speech, the former rival of the ex-president in the primaries urged voters to support Trump, who often mocked him with the nickname "goody two-shoes."
Additionally, she mentioned the attack suffered by Trump at the rally last Saturday in Pennsylvania, where the candidate was injured in one ear.
"Trump has been demonized, persecuted, and almost lost his life. We cannot allow him to fall, nor for the United States to fall," stated the Governor of Florida.
The governor concluded his intervention with a call for party unity: "Let's make the one who was our 45th president also our 47th president."
On Monday, Trump was proclaimed as the Republican candidate for the upcoming November elections, taking advantage of the political momentum he gained from the attack last Saturday, where he was injured in one ear.
