The body of a man is found on the train tracks in Santiago de Cuba.

The discovery took place near the Chalons reservoir in Santiago de Cuba.

Authorities are investigating the discovery of a man's body on a railway near the Chalons reservoir in Santiago de Cuba.

A video disseminated by journalist Yosmany Mayeta showed the moment when the police and forensic personnel were working in the area, in the presence of curious onlookers and local residents.

At the moment, it is unclear whether it was a suicide, an accidental death due to the victim having ingested excessive amounts of alcohol, or a murder.

An initial version -disclosed by Mayeta himself based on the testimony of neighbors- indicated that the victim's stepson, who had allegedly been drinking with him, may have killed him.

However, several relatives of those involved denied that version and claimed that they got along well.

In fact, the journalist himself, in a later video he published discussing the case, indicated that the stepson was initially detained but was later released due to lack of evidence.

Yosmany Mayeta promised to return soon regarding the incident and to keep abreast of the progress of the investigation.

Hundreds of people reacted scandalized in the comments section of the post due to the number of unfortunate events reported almost daily from Santiago de Cuba in recent months.
