Javier Milei to the Venezuelans: "The lions have awakened and sooner or later socialism will come to an end."

"That impoverishing model is going to end. So, cheer up dear Venezuelans, you will move forward! Keep fighting, don't give up! Long live freedom, damn it!" he added.

The Argentine president Javier Milei addressed the Venezuelans to encourage them and raise their spirits despite the outcome of the rigged elections by Nicolás Maduro's regime.

"The fraud carried out and perpetrated by the dictator Nicolás Maduro is nothing less than a Pyrrhic victory. He may believe he has won a battle. However, the most important thing is that the Venezuelan lions have awakened, and sooner or later socialism will come to an end," said Milei in a video posted on his social media.

Devoting his words to the "heroic Venezuelan people," the libertarian politician once again slammed the socialist model of Chavismo and other dictatorships, which he constantly denounces as "poverty-inducing."

"This impoverishing model is going to end because socialism is always and everywhere a murderous, hunger-causing, and impoverishing phenomenon. So, cheer up dear Venezuelans, you will move forward! Keep fighting, don’t give up! Long live freedom, damn it!" expressed the Argentine president.

Self-proclamation of Maduro and reactions from Venezuelans and the international community

The political climate in Venezuela has become more tense following Nicolás Maduro's proclamation this Monday as the winner of the presidential elections, a decision strongly rejected by the opposition and denounced as fraud.

After the announcement by the chavista electoral authority in Venezuela, a wave of protests and rejection erupted from the opposition and a significant part of the population.

The chavista National Electoral Council granted dictator Nicolás Maduro 51.2% of the votes compared to 44.2% for candidate Edmundo González. Immediately, the opposition considered the results fraudulent and not representative of the will of the Venezuelan people.

María Corina Machado, leader of the opposition coalition, firmly refused to acknowledge Maduro's victory. In a strong statement, Machado asserted that "Venezuela has a new elected president, and it is Edmundo González," referring to the opposition candidate who, according to her, was the true winner of the elections.

Among the most serious accusations of irregularities made by the opposition are vote manipulation, intimidation of voters, and control of polling places by forces loyal to Maduro's regime.

These complaints have been the spearhead of the protests and the mobilization of the opposition, which demands a thorough review of the count and the intervention of international observers to ensure the transparency of the process.

The international community has closely followed the development of events in Venezuela. Several nations and international organizations have expressed their concern over allegations of fraud and have called for peaceful dialogue between the parties.

The United States, the European Union, and several Latin American countries have issued statements urging Maduro's government to allow an independent investigation into the reported irregularities and to respect the will of the Venezuelan people.

Milei and his criticisms of socialism: From the 21st Century to 'El Moro'

In mid-December 2023, when libertarian economist Javier Milei assumed the presidency of Argentina, he gave an inaugural speech in which he stated that socialism is a "model that has failed everywhere in the world."

"Our leadership decided to abandon the model that had made us rich and embraced the impoverishing ideas of collectivism," said Milei in front of a large crowd that gathered to celebrate the surprising arrival of the former deputy from La Libertad Avanza at the Casa Rosada.

In the presence of leaders from various countries and official delegations that attended the inauguration ceremony, the party member stated that this model "considers that a politician's task is to direct the lives of individuals in all possible areas and spheres. A model that views the State as a spoils of war to be divided among friends."

"For more than a hundred years, politicians have insisted on defending a model that only generates poverty, stagnation, and misery. A model that considers that citizens are here to serve politics and not that politics exists to serve citizens," argued Milei. "That model has failed, it has failed all over the world, but especially it has failed in our country," asserted the leader.

Milei's triumph was described as a "tremendous threat" to the Latin American region by Nicolás Maduro. In his weekly television program, Maduro denounced the alleged "colonial" nature of the elected leader and his supposed submission to "North American imperialism."

"We will not be silent, because the arrival of a right-wing extremist, with a completely colonial project, kneeling to North American imperialism, is a tremendous threat," said the Chavista leader.

According to the 21st century Bolivarian socialist, Milei represents the Argentine "neo-Nazi right" that seeks to lead a "colonial project" throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

"We call for reflection on the rise of far-right groups that seek to impose themselves to recolonize Latin America and intend to impose extremist models. In Venezuela, they have not passed and will not pass; Venezuela will continue to be a free and Bolivarian land," emphasized the heir of Hugo Chávez and pawn of the Cuban regime.
