A modern car crashed on Sunday afternoon against a bridge on the road to Camajuaní, in the province of Villa Clara, leaving the driver with minor injuries.
"A while ago, on the road to Camajuaní, before the climb to Loma Santa Fe, it seems that the driver went off to the left lane ending up against the bridge, I don't know more details," wrote the user Maykel Garateix in the Facebook group "ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES por más experiencia y menos víctimas!".
In a photo shared in the post, the strong impact received on the front of the car can be seen, which lost its bumper after the collision.
“One person came alone and only gave himself light hits, fortunately,” said a user in the comments section.
The same person added that "the man came out limping, it seems it was a blow to the foot, imagine it was on his side," noting in detail that the impact had occurred on the driver's side.
An internet user pointed out that the location where the accident occurred is a "hot stretch," as it has a "high ditch" that poses a danger to drivers, and urged "caution while driving."
Another user noted that the "car is rented" and expressed that "they do not know the roads and the poor condition they are in, drive with caution, this is not the same as in other countries, driver take care of your life and that of others, do not consume alcoholic beverages."
The weekend in Cuba was marked by a high number of accidents, including some fatal ones. Last Saturday, a collision between a motorcycle and an electric tricycle resulted in two people injured in the city of Holguín.
The accident occurred on the Camino Militar road when the driver of the tricycle, allegedly in a state of intoxication, invaded the opposite lane, causing the collision with the motorcycle.
In Pinar del Río, a young man died and several people were injured after a bus overturned while heading to the beach of Cayo Jutías on the northern coast of that western province of Cuba.
While four people lost their lives early Sunday morning, including a minor, due to a collision with a bridge and then the fire of a vehicle on the stretch of Villa Clara that runs along the National Highway.
The deceased were residents of the municipality of Céspedes, in Camagüey.
The driver was identified as Elder Fernández and was the father of twins. Meanwhile, another of the deceased was recognized as Maira and remembered as "a great teacher" in the town.
