Reports of missing elderly people in Cuba have become increasingly frequent in recent months, as well as the posting of requests for help on social media to obtain information, all amid a context of growing violence in the country.

Some of these requests end happily when the person whose whereabouts are unknown is found.

In May, Juan Gallo Bell, a 75-year-old man who had been missing since May 23 in Santiago de Cuba, was found safe and sound.

The man was found stable, although when they found him he was scared.

Recently, the Cuban Félix Rojas Pérez, a deaf person who had been missing for a year, was found alive and his family is pleased.

"According to our follower and relative of Félix, María Isabel Rojas Méndez, a resident of Santiago, she managed to find him and traveled by car to his home," announced the official journalist Miguel Reyes Mendoza, known as Miguel Noticias on Facebook.

The communicator reported that he received a message from the family member, who excitedly thanked him for the dissemination he did of the case.
