A young Cuban dies in Matanzas just days before traveling to the U.S. to reunite with his father.

A young Cuban, just 20 years old, died in a motorcycle accident in the locality of Israel Ruiz, in the municipality of Los Arabos, Matanzas, just a few days before traveling to the U.S. to reunite with his father, according to reports on social media confirmed by sources close to the victim.

Maylon Rosell was happy and celebrating that on August 27 he would travel to the United States, according to the news portal on Facebook La Tijera.

"Everything happened when he decided to visit his mom with the high-end motorcycle that his dad had sent him from the U.S. less than a month ago. A motorcycle that was already sold," revealed the source.

They say he arrived at his mother's house at full speed, and when he was about to return home, his mom begged him to stay with her and not leave, but he, under the influence of alcohol, ignored her and left. Unfortunately, he never reached his destination.

Although La Tijera reported that Maylon's trip would be through humanitarian parole, a source close to the victim corrected that it was via family reunification.

This Wednesday, the young man from Matanzas was laid to rest in a crowded and emotional funeral in his municipality.

Dozens of people have expressed their dismay at the tragedy and are urging the parents of young motorcyclists to raise awareness among their children about the dangers of riding motorcycles under certain circumstances.
