An elderly man was run over by a trailer at the beginning of this week on Camino Militar, in the city of Holguín, according to reports on social media.

Although no images of the accident scene have emerged so far, several witnesses agreed in pointing out in the Facebook group Accidente Buses & Camiones that the victim was dismembered as a result of the brutal impact.

An internet user described the scene as "horrible," and others harshly summarized the condition in which the poor elderly man was left, whose identity has not been revealed.

A witness revealed that the elderly man was cutting grass when he was hit by the heavy vehicle.

"It was to be expected. All the drivers speed on that road, and with the number of violations that occur every day," lamented a commentator.

As of the closing of this note, other details about the tragic incident remain unknown, which sadly is not the first of its kind in recent weeks.

At the end of July, an elderly man was hit by a bus on the road from Bayamo to Las Tunas, near the town of San Joaquín, in the province of Granma.

In that case, photos circulated on social media showed how the windshield of the bus was cracked, apparently as a result of the impact, as well as a yellow tape placed by the authorities to mark off the scene of the tragic event.

The crime reporter, Niover Licea, identified the victim in that case as Yoel Licea Ortiz, and as a very unfortunate detail, specified that the same night the elderly man died, they robbed the house where he lived.
