The Embassy of the United States in Cuba recently published a video in which Kristina Rosales, spokesperson for the State Department, urged people not to believe rumors about immigration laws.

In his message, Rosales emphasized the importance of obtaining accurate and reliable information, especially on such a sensitive topic as migration.

"Get accurate and reliable updates directly from us. Learn about the legal ways to enter the United States safely," said Rosales.

He invited Cubans who wish to emigrate to subscribe to the WhatsApp channel "Migración USA," where they share updated information and guidance about consular services.

The Embassy has been strengthening its information system for several months, especially since last week, when the U.S. government temporarily suspended travel permits for beneficiaries of the humanitarian parole program.

The measure was taken after an internal report revealed significant levels of fraud in the processes for obtaining this type of parole. Since then, they have suspended the issuance of advance travel authorizations while they proceed to thoroughly review the sponsors' applications.

In July, the Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to the Family Reunification Program (CFRP). They explained to interested Cubans that the diplomatic mission has all the available documentation in Spanish on its website.

They also announced the new guidance service through the Consular Navigator, which offers information and additional assistance to those interested in participating in the CFRP.

The Embassy has two main offices responsible for migration cases. The first is the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), which handles cases related to humanitarian parole, parole beneficiaries, refugees, and asylum.

The second is the Consular Section, part of the State Department, responsible for immigrant visa applications and family claims.

The initiative from the Embassy seeks to streamline migration processes and ensure that applicants have all the necessary documentation, in order to reduce the chances of delays and complications in their procedures.

The video is part of an ongoing effort by the Embassy to keep the Cuban community informed about the correct immigration procedures and to avoid confusion.
