The little players from the Santa Clara team, who are participating in the Little League World Series, attended the inauguration of the sporting event held in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, this Wednesday.

Riding on a float, the young Cuban athletes traveled the streets of that American city, and many of the attendees waved flags from the island, as well as shouted several times: Cuba, Cuba.

At the Lamade Stadium, one of the two venues for the games, the Cuban team also participated in the opening parade.

The also known as "Santa Clara Bombers" had arrived on U.S. soil on August 9 at Miami International Airport.

Their first opponent will be the team from Czechia, starting at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time in the United States) this Thursday, at Volunteer Stadium, the other competition venue.

The format of the tournament, which may seem complex to understand at first, is that some teams will play a first round, where the losers do not have to worry because they will still have a chance to continue in this competition, as they will go to the elimination zone, while those who win will remain in the winners' bracket.

It is worth mentioning that the teams in the elimination zone, if they lose another game, will be eliminated from the tournament.

"Bombarderos de Santa Clara" had won the championship on March 2 against the team from Sancti Spíritus, a victory that led them to represent Cuba in the important international event that will take place from August 14 to 25.

The program for this edition is divided into two smaller versions: International and United States. When August 25 arrives, the United States winner will face their international counterpart.

The international teams are divided into Asia-Pacific, Australia, Canada, Caribbean, Cuba, Europe-Africa, Japan, Latin America, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

Last year marked Cuba's historic debut in this type of tournament with a team from Bayamo, Granma.
