The 14-year-old outfield prospect Cristian Lías left Cuba in recent hours with the aim of signing with a Major League Baseball (MLB) organization in the Dominican Republic, according to journalist Francys Romero.

Lías, a native of Holguín, was part of the Cuba team in the Under-15 category in March, where he showcased his talent and potential on the international stage.

Additionally, the gardener stood out as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the most recent National Under-15 Championship with the Holguín team.

The aforementioned source revealed that the young player will be training at the Alex Sánchez Academy, a prestigious training center for young baseball players.

Romero indicated that he has excellent skills as a hitter, runner, and a strong arm that makes him ideal for the center field (CF) position. His ability to bat both left-handed and right-handed adds significant value to his profile as a prospect.

Cristian Lías becomes the fourth player from the Cuba U-15 team this year to leave the country, joining a trend of young talents seeking opportunities abroad.
