The team from Santa Clara, representing Cuba in the 2024 Little League World Series held in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, arrived at Miami International Airport, coming from Havana.

Also known as the "Bombers of Santa Clara," they won the championship on March 2 against the team from Sancti Spíritus, a victory that led them to represent Cuba in the important international event that will take place from August 14 to 25.

Before their departure from Cuba, the young athletes were taken on a “visit” to the museum of dictator Fidel Castro in Havana, indicates the sports portal Swing Completo, a sign of the indoctrination to which Cubans are subjected.

The program for this edition is divided into two smaller versions: International and United States. When August 25 arrives, the United States winner will face their international counterpart.

The international teams are divided into Asia-Pacific, Australia, Canada, Caribbean, Cuba, Europe-Africa, Japan, Latin America, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

The first match of the Cuban youth players will be against the representative team from Europe-Africa, made up of a Czech team.

Not all matches are a matter of life or death, which means that a defeat is not the end of the world. The tournament is double elimination, so teams can afford to lose a match at the beginning and still win enough to be crowned champions.

Last year marked Cuba's historic debut in this type of events, with a team from Bayamo, Granma.

On that occasion, one of the coaches of the Cuban national team, José Alberto Pérez González, left the delegation.
