Alert issued after 12 days since the disappearance of a young Cuban woman with a disability in Ciego de Ávila.

“The inaction of the Cuban police in the face of this disappearance case has left Claudia's family and the community as her only searchers,” the issued alert states.

The Gender Observatory Alas Tensas issued an alert for the disappearance 12 days ago of the young Cuban woman with a disability, Claudia, 27 years old and a resident of a community in Baraguá, Ciego de Ávila.

Claudia has been missing since August 7, 2024, as noted in a bulletin shared on the Facebook profile of the Observatory.

"The inaction of the Cuban police regarding this disappearance case has left Claudia's family and the community as her only seekers," they add in their message.

They point out that "everyone has the right to be sought from the very moment their disappearance is detected, and that all available means should be employed for their search."

Claudia is described by her family as a non-aggressive and extremely affectionate person, "like a little girl." She escaped from the watch of her mother and grandmother.

Relatives urged anyone who may have information about their whereabouts to contact the phone number (+53) 51111341 immediately.
