The Cuban content creator kurly_la_peque has shared a video on TikTok with useful tips for newcomers to the United States, based on her own experience as an immigrant.
In the video, which has quickly gained popularity, the young Cuban living in Kentucky warned about the dangers of getting involved in multi-level marketing, emphasizing that "the one who gets harmed will be you." Additionally, she stressed the importance of learning about credit and building your own, as it is essential for acquiring a home in the country.
Another highlighted piece of advice is the need to work for oneself and not to depend financially on another person, as this can leave individuals vulnerable in the event of a breakup.
"It's very tough to depend on your partner, and if tomorrow it ends, you don't know how to manage, you don't know how to use your credit, you don't know how to do most things because you've always been in someone else's shadow, and that is not good at all," exemplified @kurly_la_peque.
Finally, the young Cuban -who has also offered advice for those like her working in the housekeeping business- addressed the controversy between buying a new or used car.
In his case, he does not hesitate to recommend purchasing a used vehicle and paying for it in cash, to avoid unnecessary debts that could harm credit and hinder financial progress in the United States. “This country offers you many opportunities, but if you make a mistake, it will also bill you for it,” he concluded.
