It is clarified that the corpse found in a dumpster in Havana does not correspond to Kiara González Bermúdez.

A friend of Kiara said that the young woman is missing.

A friend of Kiara González Bermúdez clarified on Saturday afternoon that the body of the woman found on Friday in a trash container in Old Havana does not belong to her.

Kiara González Bermúdez "is not the body found in the trash in Old Havana," wrote Alfredo Rodríguez Ramírez on his Facebook profile, although he did clarify that this person is missing.

"The complaint has already been filed, but anyone who sees it please call me at (+53) 54324610, I'm leaving my contact here," said Rodríguez Ramírez in an attempt to stop the rumors about Kiara's death from spreading.

It was initially reported that the victim was Kiara, but this information has been refuted after it was confirmed that the deceased is Lianet Núñez Pérez, a 20-year-old young woman.

Lianet was a resident of the Jesús María neighborhood in Old Havana, and she had last been seen on the night of Thursday, August 22.

On Friday, the independent portal CubaNet reported that the presumably dismembered body of a woman had been found in a garbage tank located on Habana Street between Luz and Acosta, in the capital municipality of La Habana Vieja.

A video shared on Facebook showed an ambulance, as well as police and other members of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) at the scene. In the comments section of the post, local residents claimed that the victim was dismembered and that limbs (the arms) were missing.

The police cordoned off the area and blocked access to pedestrians, and prohibited the use of cell phones in the block. They then began the investigation, which included the use of K9 units.

Editor’s Note: In a previous report, CiberCuba stated that Kiara González Bermúdez had been found in a landfill in Old Havana. This information has been corrected.
