Several workers at the Carlos Marx Cement Factory in Cienfuegos were injured due to a suspected explosion in one of the facility's units, which also caused some people to become trapped.
The information was disseminated by independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, who stated that the possible cause of the accident is the explosion of a boiler.
Allegedly, due to the explosion, a hopper fell that has trapped some workers.
Rescue and Salvage personnel are on site trying to free three workers who are trapped.
They are also awaiting the arrival of two ambulances to transport the injured to the Gustavo Aldereguía Lima Provincial Hospital.
The communicator added that authorities from the Communist Party in Cienfuegos are in the hospital and that there is a strong police presence.
In the Facebook group "360 Cienfuegos Compra, Venta Cuba," a user confirmed the fact by saying that her son is a firefighter and was helping people.
Another person said that three injured individuals have arrived at the hospital... but more are still missing.
