A human skull was found this Thursday on the banks of the Hatibonico River in Camagüey, according to a video released by the independent media outlet La Hora de Cuba.
Local reporter Yuriandrys Mendoza said that the discovery took place in the Nadales area, very close to the old raspadura factory.
At the time of filming the video, the neighbors were awaiting the presence of the experts to establish pertinent details, and so far the causes or reason for the death of the victim in question remain unknown, Mendoza explained.
Last February, several human skulls were found in a landfill in the province of Holguín.
A human skull was also recently found in a dumping site in the América Latina neighborhood of Santa Clara, as confirmed by the official pro-government Facebook profile Fuerza del Pueblo.
Cuba is experiencing increasing criminality while constant reports of missing persons on the island persist. There have also been rising reports of skull thefts in Cuban cemeteries for religious rituals.
