Stability in the black currency market in Cuba

In recent weeks, exchange rates in the informal market in Cuba have shown some stability, although they remain at high levels.

Despite this apparent calm in the informal forex market, its volatility remains a concern for citizens due to the high demand for foreign currency against the shortage of supply in the official market.

The high prices of these currencies reflect the lack of confidence in the Cuban peso and the difficult economic situation of the country, worsened by inflation and the crisis of shortages.

This situation continues to negatively affect the purchasing power of the population, which increasingly relies on the informal market to acquire basic goods.
