The police are asking for help to identify a couple accused of stealing and using credit cards in Miami.

The incident occurred in a restaurant in South Miami.

The Miami police are asking for help in locating a couple who were caught on camera stealing a wallet from a restaurant customer in South Miami on September 14.

"The victim and a friend went to have breakfast at a restaurant in South Miami around 10 am. They sat at one of the tables. A moment later, another couple came in and sat next to them; it can be seen in the video that he moves the table to bring it a little closer," explained Fernando Bosch, spokesperson for the South Miami police, in statements to Telemundo 51.

The video shows that at one point the man adjusts the table closer to the victim in search of the ideal position to carry out the theft.

After picking up the wallet, she places it under the menu, puts it in her pocket, goes to the bathroom, and when she returns, she sits for a moment and then they both leave the establishment.

About 20 minutes after committing the robbery, the couple headed to Brickell City Center, where they were caught on camera trying to use the stolen credit cards in several stores.

Authorities have stated that the investigation "has revealed that there were six people in that group trying to use the credit card. They were able to use one of the cards and charged $2,900."

The authorities are now trying to identify the individuals who, according to the police, could be responsible for other similar robberies.

Anyone with information can contact the Miami-Dade crime hotline.
