A year and a half after being violently attacked with a machete during a robbery in Holguín, the young Cuban Lester Domínguez continues his rehabilitation in Havana, although his recovery is slow.

Lester, who has been unable to walk since the assault, started a new treatment at Julio Díaz hospital in Havana in July, right on his birthday.

Two months later, his father reveals that "he continues to gain in sensitivity and in terms of movements."

"His recovery is slow," said Dennis Domínguez on his Facebook wall, highlighting that his son is lacking pounds for his weight.

"There we see him doing exercises to improve his movements. And to tell you that he continues to focus on his rehabilitation until he sees how far he can go. Lester has an incomplete C5 spinal cord injury. (...) Where we need to work more is on the trunk; the parts of the hand and leg are doing very well," he detailed.
