VIRAL: Man jumps into the Miami River to avoid being arrested by the police

The incident took place amidst a large police presence.

A spectacular police chase ended this Sunday with a man jumping into the Miami River from the bridge located in the NW 12th Avenue area to avoid being arrested.

Images posted from the Instagram account Only in Dade showed that traffic was stopped and the bridge was raised in order to cut off the pursuit that the man was making on a motorcycle.

However, the video showed that the subject -who was wearing shorts and no shirt- abandoned the motorcycle and without hesitation prepared to jump into the river.

According to images filmed by a witness, at least 27 patrols arrived in the area to capture the suspect, whose crime has not been disclosed, although it has been confirmed that the individual was ultimately apprehended.

In the comments section of the post, which has gone viral with more than a thousand comments by the time of this note, many internet users agree that the scene looks like it was taken from a movie or from GTA (Grand Theft Auto), a popular video game series developed by Rockstar Games.

In Grand Theft Auto, players often take on the role of criminals carrying out missions within a plot that involves crimes, conflicts with the law, and other action situations, as seen in the video shared by Only in Dade.

The bridge whose traffic was interrupted by the leak is part of an important transit route in the city that connects different neighborhoods.

In recent years, it is not the first time that a police pursuit ends with a leap into the Miami River to escape from the authorities.

Until the closing of this note, the crime committed by the daring motorcyclist has not been disclosed.
