Chaotic Monday in Havana: Torrential rains caused significant flooding.

At least five municipalities in the capital recorded flooding.

Several municipalities in Havana experienced severe flooding this Monday as a result of the heavy rains that occurred in the capital.

Videos shared on social media reported flooding in Plaza de La Revolución, Diez de Octubre, Cerro, Playa, and Old Havana, among other municipalities.

A shocking video showed a car stranded at the intersection of Amenidad and 20 de Mayo streets, near the Latinoamericano stadium. Witnesses at the scene expressed concern for the driver's safety.

Also in that area, it was possible to see a fire truck also stranded due to the height of the water, nearly transformed into a submarine given the circumstances.

Impressive were also the floods in the destroyed Calzada de Diez de Octubre, where the water flowed like a river.

Also flooded is Avenida Buenos Aires, in the Cerro municipality, a place with recurring floods that on this Monday once again saw the water threatening to cover the benches of a park located near the Suchel factory.

Images shared on social media showed that the Avenue Boyeros was even flooded in some areas near the Bohemia magazine, in the Plaza de la Revolución municipality.

Flooding in La Palma as well as in the Playa municipality marked a worrying day, both due to the usual landslides that occur after very rainy days and the omnipresent hygiene crisis affecting the capital.

In fact, not a few internet users pointed out that although the rains were intense, the floods are so significant because the drains and sewers are clogged with garbage.
