The official television channel of the Cuban capital reported issues in the transmission of its signal again and went off the air this Tuesday due to a supposed "technical malfunction," about which it did not provide any explanations.

"We inform you that due to a technical malfunction in our entity, we have not been able to broadcast the signal. We are working on a solution, and as soon as it is restored, we will broadcast the regular programming for today. We apologize for any inconvenience caused," reported Canal Habana on its social media.

The media outlet did not specify the cause or the characteristics of the "technical failure" that prevented it from broadcasting its signal.

Following its publication on Facebook, Canal Habana did not report the restoration of the signal, so at the time of writing this note, the duration of the signal "blackout" is unknown, nor whether the "malfunction" has been resolved.

At the beginning of September, the live signal of Canal Habana was interrupted by a power outage.

"Dear viewers: We inform you that due to a lack of electrical supply, the broadcast signal of Canal Habana has been affected, and therefore some of our usual programming was not aired. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you," the channel stated in a brief message posted on Facebook.

Although the initial publication ended with "news under construction," there were no updates or further explanations of what happened through that channel, and then they removed the banner.

As in previous occasions, the notice from the official channel this Tuesday was commented on by several internet users who pointed out again that it is not the first time the signal has been interrupted on that channel.

"Unfortunately, because I consider Canal Habana one of the best programming options in Cuban TV... Several days with broadcast issues... It's sad for its followers," said a user.

In the midst of the severe energy crisis that the country is experiencing, the "malfunction" of this Tuesday adds to other incidents that, in recent months, have caused signal "blackouts" or embarrassing moments during broadcasts.

Followers of the capital's television channel expressed in the comments their suspicions that the "technical malfunction" is nothing more than a euphemism to avoid acknowledging that the broadcast cannot take place due to power outages, which have intensified in the past week.

"How are they going to broadcast with the kind of blackout that is happening in that area?" a user asked, highlighting the fact that blackouts have reached areas of the capital that had until now remained unaffected in terms of electricity supply, due to the presence of hotels or strategic infrastructures such as national radio and television.

In July, the Cuban singer and deputy Annie Garcés Santana, one of the performers of the song "Patria o Muerte por la Vida," suffered a blackout during the recording of the program "En tiempo real," broadcast from the Canal Caribe studios.
