A Cuban worker revealed details of the accident that occurred between a public transport bus and a state minibus in Havana.

The incident occurred on Saturday, September 28, when the bus on route 222 collided with an old Mercedes Benz van from the Ministry of Light Industry at the traffic light intersection of Avenida 51 and Calle 160, in the municipality of La Lisa.

Rigoberto Prado Besil, a member of the Facebook group "Bus Drivers Forever," explained that the driver of the truck has a high professional level due to his more than 40 years of experience.

"It was traveling on a priority road, making it clear to the experts in the field that the young driver of the Yutong bus did not respect the obligation to yield, with a flashing red light," she detailed.

"The van sustained significant damage on the left side of the body, with the most important thing being that fortunately the driver Leonardo Mojena Vanegas only suffered light but painful contusions for his age, also on the left side of his anatomy," he pointed out.

According to Prado Besil, the vehicle was used for transporting employees of the company, among whom is himself.

Fortunately, at the time of the accident, the driver of the van was alone on his way home.

Last week, the Transport Director of Havana shared photos of the incident on Facebook and reported that the bus was almost entering the UEB Terminal Lisa, about to start its next departure as part of the reinforcement of the Santiago route.

Internet users lamented that another public passenger transport bus has been taken out of circulation amid the serious transportation crisis in the country.
