With heartfelt words, the singer Vanessa Formell joined the wave of solidarity and requests for the health of the Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger, who remains hospitalized in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, following the gunshot he received to the head last Thursday.

On her Instagram profile, the female voice of the famous Cuban orchestra Los Van Van dedicated a heartfelt message to José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, the real name of El Taiger, along with a photo they took in Miami in 2022.

“I have been speechless for two days, Miami is experiencing a lot of violence and for those who say that his behavior led to this, I must say that under no circumstances does a human being deserve this, whether famous or not,” said Vanessa emphatically at the beginning of her post.

The Cuban artist, daughter of the late musician Juan Formell and singer Mirtha Medina, confessed that, for her, in the urban genre, El Taiger “is one of the most talented of the last 15 years since @los4.oficial” and lamented: “Seeing him in this struggle breaks my heart.”

"I'm not looking for attention, as I'm one of those people who posts the least on social media, but I do ask for prayers for this young man who has so much to give and who life has placed in this crossroads," he requested from his followers.

"I know that you will continue to live and move forward for your family and for so many people who love you," she said, addressing the artist, who is currently fighting for his life in a hospital in Florida.

Vanessa remembered that the day she and El Taiger took the photo for the post, at a Van Van concert in Miami, the reggaeton artist confessed to her: “Your dad made me a VANVANERO,” to which she added in her message: “Now I want you to become an even stronger warrior than you already are and give us more music and laughter. GOD IS IN CONTROL.”

Also in a post on Instagram, Los Van Van expressed their support for the artist: “Vanvaneros, let’s pray for the Tiger’s swift recovery. May Orula and all the saints protect him and allow him to continue being with us in good health, alongside his family and all his fans.”

The reactions and expressions of solidarity towards El Taiger have not ceased since Thursday, both from artists and the Cuban population, concerned about his serious state of health and eager for his recovery.

On Saturday night, a member of the singer's work team, who had accompanied him during the day at Jackson Memorial Hospital, informed the followers gathered around the medical center that he is "stable," although still in critical condition.

Meanwhile, in Cuba, fans of the artist held vigils for his recovery in several provinces this Friday and Saturday. In Guantánamo, Santiago de Cuba, Cienfuegos, Cárdenas, and Havana, Cubans gathered to pray for the singer's health.
