Marianela Ancheta, the newly elected Miss Universe Cuba 2024, has posted the following on one of her Instagram stories in clear reference to the health status of reggaeton artist José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, better known as El Taiger, who is in critical condition after being shot in the head in Miami on October 3, 2024.
In her social media, the Cuban has posted a photo featuring a tiger lying on the ground among candles, representing the singer's human soul, while he is seen in the background on a stretcher surrounded by people holding candles and awaiting his recovery. The image is accompanied by the heartfelt phrase: "All of Cuba is waiting for you to get up!"
The artist who was found unconscious inside an abandoned vehicle near Jackson Memorial Hospital is currently in intensive care with life support. Friends, family, and fans, including other Cuban artists such as Jorge Junior and Yordenis Ugás, have expressed their concern and support. Additionally, vigils have been organized in various locations, both in Cuba and Miami, to pray for his recovery.
The beauty queen is in the Dominican Republic, where she arrived on October 5 to meet with the renowned Dominican designers Giannina Azar and Leonel Lirio, who have been selected to create some of the outfits she will wear during her participation in Miss Universe 2024, which will be held in Mexico on November 16. The Cuban model has participated in several photo shoots as well as interviews in which she has talked about female empowerment.
Marianela Ancheta was crowned Miss Universe Cuba 2024, making her the first Cuban representative in Miss Universe in 57 years. Born in Villa Clara, she emigrated to the United States by crossing the border through Mexico with her mother. In addition to her modeling career, she is an entrepreneur with her own line of skincare products. She currently resides in Miami and has been romantically linked to Colombian footballer James Rodríguez.
