Enrique Santos responds to criticism about the tribute to El Taiger at Fiesta Latina: "It was the right thing to do."

Enrique Santos has responded to the criticism regarding the tribute that will be paid to the late Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger at the Fiesta Latina 2024, which will take place on October 26 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Enrique Santos, a prominent presenter and key figure in the Latin community in the United States, has addressed the criticisms that have arisen following the announcement of a tribute to the late Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger at Fiesta Latina 2024. The event will take place this Saturday, October 26, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, and has been the subject of controversy on social media due to the sudden organization of the tribute to the artist.

Santos shared a video on his Instagram account where he directly addressed the negative comments and the confusion generated. "Some on social media are confused about what is going to happen on Saturday, and I want to clarify that," the presenter stated as he began his message.

According to the explanation, the event has required more than a year of planning and is held annually with the purpose of "celebrating our music, our culture."

In his words, Enrique Santos emphasized that, following the tragic death of El Taiger on October 10, they felt it was appropriate to create a space to honor the memory of someone who was "one of the great pioneers of Cuban urban music."

According to Santos, the decision was made with the support of Dj Conds, musicians, producers, and close friends of the artist, who have selflessly joined to carry out the tribute.

"With the generous acceptance of Dj Conds, the musicians of El Taiger, their producers, and friends, who were the people that worked closely with him until his last days, we are going to hold a tribute this Saturday at the Kaseya Center Fiesta Latina 2024 to remember the best moments of his musical career," the presenter detailed. He also emphasized that creating a space to pay tribute "has not been easy, but it was the right thing to do."

In the touching video, Enrique Santos also addressed the mixed opinions that have arisen amidst the mourning for the loss of the reggaeton artist, reminding that El Taiger had expressed in life his desire for people to celebrate him upon his death.

The presenter acknowledged the frustration of many followers regarding the legal situation of the alleged perpetrator of the artist's death, who is still on the run from justice. "That's where we need to focus our energy," he pointed out.

Likewise, the communicator denied rumors about supposed payments to the musicians involved in the tribute, asserting that "none of the musicians invited for this Saturday have received a single peso, we are not paying any musicians, nor the producers or DJ Conds."

The tribute to El Taiger is shaping up to be one of the most emotional moments of Fiesta Latina 2024, an event that celebrates and values the legacy of artists who have made an impact on Cuban and international urban music.
