An elderly person passed away this Friday in Camagüey when they were riding their bicycle and were struck by a truck.
The fatal accident occurred on a street in the municipality of Minas.
Facebook user Luis Ramon Susini, a member of the group "ACCIDENTS BUSES & TRUCKS for more experience and fewer victims!" shared photos taken after the incident, showing the victim's body covered with a sheet next to the bicycle.
So far, no further details about the tragic accident have emerged.
About two weeks ago, a cyclist was killed when he was struck by a Soviet-made Moskvitch car on the central Trocha Street in Santiago de Cuba.
The victim, identified as Luis Enrique Monier Martínez, was urgently transported to the Joaquín Castillo Duany Military Hospital, located near the scene of the incident. Due to the severe head injuries, the doctors had no hope for his recovery, and he passed away days later.
In mid-August, an accident in Bayamo claimed the life of a cyclist identified as Pablo Estrada, who was hit by a truck on Vicente Quesada Street and died instantly from the impact.
In July, a woman riding a bicycle was critically injured after being struck by a tourist vehicle on the Bayamo-Manzanillo road. She was urgently transferred to a hospital in Bayamo, where her condition was reported as critical.
