Alexis Valdés: "Election day is the day when freedom is celebrated most clearly."

Alexis Valdés emphasizes the importance of elections in the U.S. as a celebration of freedom. He highlights the right to choose, which is absent in Cuba, and the necessity of respecting others' choices.

In the midst of the presidential elections on November 5 in the United States, Alexis Valdés summarized the significance of this day for all those who can exercise their right to vote.

"There are people who have not understood the importance of today. Election Day is the day where freedom is celebrated most clearly, the freedom of rights, the freedom of opportunities," stated the Cuban comedian in a video he shared on his Instagram.

For Alexis Valdés, this Tuesday "is the day when you are given the opportunity to choose. To choose, if we go back to the basics of the dictionary, means to prefer, to select something or someone because it seems to you to be the best for a particular purpose."

"Today is the day when a country where the rule of law prevails, where democracy functions, gives you the opportunity to choose, select, and prefer what you believe is the best for the purpose of governing a country,” the artist added.

Very convinced that before him and many others there lies an opportunity that, for example, was not available in Cuba, he emphasizes: “You are free today, and not everyone in the world has that privilege; this is something to celebrate. However, to be free to choose, you must allow others to be free to choose as well. Today is not the day for judging, questioning, or pressuring; today is the day to choose what seems right to you, what you believe is good.”

The Cuban actor emphasized the importance of giving everyone the opportunity to vote in order to "build a good country for all."
