An oil spill on the avenues of the Obelisco roundabout in Marianao, Havana, has led to several motorcyclists being involved in accidents this Tuesday in the busy area of the city.

A user alerted in the Facebook group "Automobile Accidents in Cuba" that caution is advised in the area due to a liquid spill.

He stated that more than a dozen motorcycles had skidded and fallen within less than an hour, posing a significant risk to motorcyclists in an area with heavy traffic in the capital.

"To all motorcyclists, be careful at the obelisk; it seems someone spilled oil and motorcycles are frequently slipping. There have been more than 12 accidents in less than an hour," warned Christian Ramírez.

In response to your alert, a young man agreed that one should proceed with caution in the area and stated that the most dangerous section is the curve on Avenue 31 heading towards the Maternidad Obrera hospital.

Another person urged caution with the approach of the end of the year, a time when accidents on the road typically increase.

Recently, an oil spill at the intersection of Calzada de Vento and San Miguel, also in the capital, resulted in several motorcycle accidents and collisions between cars. According to witnesses, a tow truck lost a significant amount of liquid on the road, leading to multiple accidents in the area.

A similar situation occurred in the city of Santiago de Cuba last April when a blackout left the Patria Avenue without streetlights, and a vegetable oil spill caused several motorcyclists to slip in the darkness.
