The incident occurred on the night of this Tuesday.

A man is in critical condition after being stabbed during an altercation on Tuesday night at a Cuban café located in Tamiami, in the southwest of Miami-Dade.

The incident occurred at "Sabor Cubano," located at the intersection of 8th Street and 129th Place Southwest around 7:30 p.m.

According to the authorities, the altercation began inside the establishment when a customer started causing a disturbance and harassing an employee.

Another customer, witnessing the events, decided to intervene to calm the situation, according to local press reports.

However, the verbal argument quickly escalated and turned into a physical confrontation once both men exited the restaurant.

During the altercation, the assailant pulled out a knife and stabbed the customer who was trying to mediate several times. After the attack, the suspect fled in an unknown direction, leaving the victim seriously injured.

Witnesses called 911 to report the incident, and the victim was urgently transported to HCA Florida Kendall hospital, where they remain in critical condition fighting for their life.

Detectives and forensic experts were at the scene collecting evidence, reviewing security footage, and interviewing witnesses to clarify the events.

This Wednesday at noon, the man returned to the scene of the incident, where he was arrested by the authorities.

Witnesses reported that the suspect was apprehended without any major incidents. Official confirmation of the charges he will face is still awaited.

A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police Department praised the bravery of the customer who tried to mediate the situation but cautioned against the dangers of intervening in violent altercations.

"We always recommend calling the police or emergency services. These types of incidents can become dangerous or even fatal," he stated.

Authorities encourage anyone with relevant information about the case to report it through Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS, ensuring the anonymity of informants.
