A motorist who was seriously injured last Wednesday in an accident on Aguilera Street in Santiago de Cuba has died this Sunday.
The now deceased, 45-year-old Robelis Adames, reportedly crashed into the perimeter wall of the Cultural Plaza on the mentioned street, as clarified this Monday by journalist Yosmany Mayeta on social media.
It is sadly coincidental that Robelis Adames was riding a motorcycle carrying a nurse with medication for an injured person from another serious accident.
The injured individual who was the recipient of the medication being transported on Robelis' motorcycle on November 20 had been involved in a three-motorcycle collision on the busy Trocha street.
To make matters worse, shortly after the accident involving Robelis Adames was reported, Mayeta Labrada reported the alleged theft of the injured nurse's purse, which contained the medication.
Fortunately, the communicator later updated that the bag with the medication had been found. There has been no information on the clinical progress of the injured in that triple accident.
As of the closing of this report, there is no information regarding the health status of the nurse who was also injured in the accident on Aguilera Street.
The body of Robelis Adames is being laid to rest at the Santiaguera funeral home, although his remains will be transferred to the town of Dos Caminos, his birthplace.
The death of the motorcyclist has caused immense shock among his friends and acquaintances.
In recent weeks, the number of traffic accident reports in Santiago de Cuba has skyrocketed, which many attribute to the increase in traffic lights that are out due to ongoing blackouts, heightening the risk of roadway incidents.
