Starting next Monday, January 13, 2025, Cuban citizens will be able to manage online the obtaining and legalization of certifications from the Civil Registry.
The announcement was made this Friday by the firm Consultores y Abogados Internacionales (CONABI) through a post on their Facebook profile, in which they outlined the features and benefits of the new service amid the bureaucratic environment that prevails in the country.
According to the information released, users will be able to submit their requests using a phone, computer, or other device with internet access, whether from Cuba or abroad.
Among the main advantages are the elimination of the need for an appointment, the ability to complete the process at any time of day, and the updated tracking of the application status.
To collect the documents, the applicant may visit the appropriate office or, if they are outside the country, authorize a family member to carry out the process on their behalf, without specifying the method, whether online or through a power of attorney.
Payments will be made online and will cost the same as in-person requests: 400 CUP for obtaining the certificate and 375 CUP for legalization, in addition to the value of the stamps, which varies based on the holder's place of residence.
This service will begin with a limited capacity of 50 requests per week as part of a pilot phase, aiming to refine the support mechanisms and gradually increase responsiveness.
CONABI presented the implementation of this online modality as a significant advancement to facilitate essential legal procedures and expedite the processes of obtaining official documents in the country.

In August, CONABI launched the online service for obtaining and legalizing criminal records.
Sandra Rodríguez, president and CEO of Conabi, presented the new initiative to the Cuban News Agency (ACN), as reported by the newspaper Escambray, describing it as an "achievement." She emphasized that clients will no longer need to make an appointment in advance and will be able to complete the process at any time and from anywhere, using their computers or mobile devices.
The directive, without considering the technological and connectivity limitations that affect many citizens, stated that those interested must create a user account at www.conabi.cu and, from there, request the obtainment and legalization of their criminal records.
In May, after a year in which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) acknowledged the existence of delays in the legalization of documents, the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, assured that these delays have been reversed.
The minister stated that “the delays that affected the document legalization service have been reversed,” highlighting this as a positive result of “the measures implemented since last year.”
