A weak cold front over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico will be moving closer to the northern coast of Cuba, causing overcast skies and isolated rains in that region of the country starting this Wednesday.

Although rainfall in Cuban territory has been scarce in recent weeks, this system could bring about slight variations in weather conditions.

The Cuban meteorologist Raydel Ruisánchez reported this Tuesday, through his Facebook profile, that the scarcity of rainfall is due to a powerful, well-structured anticyclone at all levels of the troposphere, which maintains a dry and stable air mass over the island.

However, he pointed out that the interaction between the frontal zone and the northeast wind flow, associated with high pressures, will cause these isolated rains, primarily concentrated along the northern coast.

Ruisánchez also indicated that no significant changes in temperatures are expected, as the minimums will remain cool during the early morning hours, while the maximums will be pleasant, becoming somewhat warm during the daytime.

This weather phenomenon highlights the persistent influence of high-pressure systems in the region, which have contributed to maintaining a mostly dry and stable climate in Cuba during this winter season.

The new cold front will arrive in South Florida by mid-week, following a Sunday characterized by dry and pleasant temperatures due to the formation of high pressure in the region.

This has been a Sunday with abundant sunshine and maximum temperatures of 75 degrees Fahrenheit (23.9 degrees Celsius), following a week with the coldest temperatures in the last two years in the region.
