A Cuban woman identified as Iberkys Valdés Ayllón has asked for help in locating her father, an elderly man with dementia who has been missing from home since last Friday.
According to the report, the man -whose name has not been disclosed- disappeared last Friday after leaving his home, and his whereabouts have been unknown since then.
In a message posted on Facebook, Valdés Ayllón explained that due to his mental condition, the elderly man tends to walk aimlessly and, at times, loses the ability to return home.

He asked anyone who sees him or has information about his whereabouts to contact him immediately using the provided numbers.
This is not the first incident of the elderly man's disappearance. On May 2 of last year, he was also reported as missing and was found in the locality of Colón, Matanzas.
On that occasion, his family expressed their relief, but the community called for not leaving him alone, as the illness he suffers from makes him prone to wandering uncontrollably.
"He will try again; he is used to walking alone through the village. We can't let him neglect himself," a user had commented at the time.
In recent years - coinciding with the rise in violence in Cuba - reports of missing persons in Cuba have become increasingly common, causing concern among families.
In the absence of an official channel to highlight these cases, many Cubans desperately turn to social media and independent media in search of help to locate their loved ones.
