The prestigious Cuban actresses Jacqueline Arenal, Tahimí Alvariño, and Isabel Santos will soon come together in a new film directed by Carlos Barba.

"No te puedes morir" is the title of the short film that Barba will dedicate to the theme of family.

The director revealed to the portal Cuballama that "it will be great to have so much talent in such a small space" and that he is very pleased with the three actresses' connection to the storyline.

"They make me sense a sensitivity behind the project, despite all the harshness of what we are about to share," he specified.

According to his explanation, his intention with this film is to conclude his Filial Fiction Trilogy, which began with "25 Hours" and continued with "Las Polacas," the latter winning the Special Coral Jury Prize at the 42nd International Festival of New Latin American Cinema.

Barba also wrote the script, which tells "the story of women close to me who screamed in their silences to share a fragment of themselves."

"All of them carry an unfulfilled desire, a difficult stigma to bear, and I am sure they will express it very well," he noted.

The shooting is scheduled for the first half of this year, it will take place in Havana and "will have a brief moment in Los Angeles," where the filmmaker resides.

"We have already begun the remote table work," a creative process that, as he said, is simmered "slowly and enjoyed."

Barba is looking forward to the premiere of the tribute documentary for the 35th anniversary of the beloved film "Adorables mentiras" and a music video by the singer Liuba María Hevia.
