The First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, announced the upcoming reopening of the White House to the public for free visits that were suspended in December.
In a statement issued by her office, she expressed that she and the president are "excited" to open their residence to those interested in "the extraordinary history of this iconic and beautiful place."

The tours cover the public rooms of the east wing and the residence, which include the Vermeil Room, the Library, the China Room, the Blue Room, the Red Room, the Green Room, the State Dining Room, and a view of the Kennedy Garden at the White House. Secret Service officers are available to answer questions about the history, art, furnishings, current uses, and more for each room.
Requests must be made between 7 and 90 days prior to the date of the visit, through the representative in the Congress of the user's state of residence, in the case of United States citizens. Foreigners must do so through the embassies of their countries.
