Two young men arrested in Miami on charges of attempted murder

Both young individuals are in prison without the right to bail.

Two 18-year-old young men were arrested and are facing second-degree attempted murder charges after being identified as the alleged perpetrators of a shooting, for reasons that remain unclear, which occurred in the parking lot of a park in Miami.

The accused -Hispanics whose country of origin has not been revealed- have been identified as Rubén Ayala, who was the one who fired; and Reniery Josué Solís, who was driving the vehicle from which the shots were fired.

According to the authorities, the attack occurred while the victims were parking their vehicle in the park.

"One of these suspects approaches him and pulls out a gun. The driver speeds up, but as he is leaving, shots are fired at him and the vehicle was hit multiple times," explained Mike Vega, spokesperson for the Miami police, in statements to America Tevé, who added that one of the victims was lightly injured.

A key witness managed to photograph the license plate of the car used by the attackers to flee, and alerted the police.

Vega noted that once they had the vehicle registration, they investigated, and a person told them who the involved parties were.

The reason for the attack is still unclear.

“We do not know the reason why they fired, whether they were familiar with the person or intended to rob them. I believe that in this case, the victim did the right thing by trying to avoid confrontation and leaving the scene. The victim also had a gun in the car and did not fire,” the police spokesperson clarified.

Both suspects appeared before the Miami-Dade criminal court this Wednesday, facing multiple charges, including second-degree attempted murder.

Judge Mindy S. Glazer denied them the right to bail. As of the closing of this report, there are no further details about the incident.
