The CIMEX Corporation has taken disciplinary measures against three employees of the MLC store "Cibeles", which belongs to the Havana Este branch, after detecting irregularities in the sale of products such as chicken liver and popular cigars.
The decision came after a public complaint on digital platforms warned about alleged violations in the marketing of these goods in the Plaza de la Revolución municipality, Havana.

Following the release of the complaint, CIMEX established an investigative committee composed of its presidency and the General Management of the Habana Este branch to verify the truth of the accusations and determine accountability, as reported by the official media Cubadebate.
As a result of the control action, it was confirmed that there were irregular practices in the sale of high-demand products.
It was found that chicken liver was sold in large quantities to a single customer and to employees of the establishment, instead of being distributed evenly among the population.
It was also confirmed that the unit manager permitted employees to purchase the popular cigarette, in violation of the regulations set by the corporation.
These facts were confirmed by a municipal inspection in Plaza de la Revolución, which validated the citizen complaint and supported the findings of the investigative commission.
Disciplinary sanctions
In light of the evidence gathered, the top management of the Havana East Branch decided to impose severe disciplinary sanctions on the employees involved.
The measures include the definitive separation of the entity for the establishment manager, as well as for the cashier-clerk and another clerk involved in the events.
In an effort to minimize acts of corruption and ensure transparency in product marketing, CIMEX has strengthened its control measures.
Origin of the complaint
It was Pedro Lizardo Garcés, president of the Rampa People's Council, who last week uncovered the case of hoarding and diversion of goods that occurred at the MLC store "Cibeles."
Garcés explained that a citizen's complaint alerted that "chicken liver" had entered, and that the management of the establishment stated that it belonged to another unit to which it would be transferred.
However, after requesting the presence of inspectors from the municipal inspection department through the superintendent, the following was detected:
-in the sales area only four wheels of popular cigars remained without a displayed price, despite there being 90 wheels in stock.
Two boxes of Rothmans cigarettes were not available for sale.
-There were only four bags of chicken liver in the sales area, but in a refrigerator in the stock there were two more boxes and two packages.
-There were no invoices or inventory of the products on-site.
In recent months, reports of such illegal activities in various stores have surged.
In the comments section of the post, several internet users urged for this control to be extended to other popular councils not only in Havana but throughout the country, as corruption is a widespread issue on the island.
