According to a note released by the local station Radio Ciudad del Mar, the Provincial Committee Plenary agreed to remove José López Zuñet from his position and from the ranks of the organization, due to "attitude problems regarding tasks assigned to him."
For its part, the Plenary of the Municipal Committee in Rodas took identical measures against Mayré Fornaris Soriano, who served as the first secretary in that territory, due to "errors made in the performance of her duties" that impaired the oversight of various organizational processes.

"It's a miracle that this is news; usually, they make their explosive moves in secret so that their 'behavioral issues' go unnoticed. Hahaha, that's a good definition, 'behavioral issues and mistakes,' because they label everything instead of calling it what it is. We'll see how far they'll go to 'correct distortions' in corruption..." remarked an artist.
"More and more members and officials of the Party are 'making mistakes in their duties.' Wouldn’t it be better to call them what they are: corrupt? They should also stop focusing so much on the problems of other countries and start proposing concrete solutions to all the ills that afflict this people," commented a resident of Cienfuegos.
Less than a year ago, the governor of Cienfuegos, Alexandre Corona Quintero, resigned from his position after allegedly "acknowledging mistakes made in the performance of his duties."
According to the state media, the official reportedly submitted his resignation to the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel, citing "errors" in his management, though no details were provided.
A press release stated that Díaz-Canel "approved the cessation of his duties," informing the lower levels of government about it.
The functions of Corona Quintero were assumed by Yolexis Rodríguez Armada, who was then the provincial vice governor.
