A 21-year-old Cuban woman identified as Yosnaydis Torres-Tosca was arrested this week, nearly a month after she was involved in a violent altercation at a nightclub in Hialeah.

The young woman is accused of hitting another woman in the head with a glass bottle, causing serious injuries.

According to a report from the Hialeah Police Department - cited by the local press - the altercation took place in the early hours of February 9 inside the Playpen 2 club, located at 3890 NW 36th St.

Although the police report described the establishment as a strip club, on its website and social media the business presents itself as a Latin entertainment nightclub.

The authorities indicated that the assailant and the victim, whose identity has not been revealed, knew each other prior and were involved in a physical fight inside the club for reasons that are unknown.

According to the police report, the victim, whose account of the events was later gathered by detectives, could not remember the details prior to the confrontation, but provided photographs of the injuries sustained during the fight.

After the attack, she was taken to Mercy Hospital in Florida HCA, where she received five stitches in her head due to a deep wound caused by the impact of the glass.

She was also diagnosed with a concussion, a corneal abrasion, and a bite on her body, the source of which she could not specify.

The security images revealed new details

The detectives who investigated the case reviewed the footage from the club's security cameras, where it was observed that the alleged victim had started the fight, being the first to strike Torres-Tosca.

However, according to the police, Torres-Tosca's response was disproportionate, as he used excessive lethal force in a situation that did not legally justify such a level of violence.

After nearly a month of investigation, Torres-Tosca was arrested on Monday of this week in her apartment in the city of Doral.

He is currently facing a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon, as the attack caused serious injuries to the victim.

During her detention, the young woman cooperated with the detectives and provided a statement about what happened.

Torres-Tosca was detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with bail set at $5,000. By the time this report was concluded, she was no longer listed in the police records, suggesting that she has posted bail.

As of the closing of this report, there are no further details about the incident.
