A worker from Calixto García Hospital is expelled for leaking a video of Paulo FG after the accident

A worker from the Calixto García Hospital was expelled for recording and disseminating a video of the late singer Paulo FG after an accident, a measure that could lead to her professional disqualification.

The Cuban regime expelled a technical specialist from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) at the Calixto García Hospital in Havana for allegedly filming and sharing a video of the mortal remains of singer Pablo Fernández Gallo (Paulo FG).

The measure was taken following an investigation at the hospital, which determined that the employee, an electrocardiogram technician, was responsible for a recording made shortly after the artist's passing, a victim of a tragic accident on the first of March at the Malecón in Havana.

Cubadebate reported that 13 individuals who were in contact with the patient were interviewed by a commission from MINSAP. Twelve of them stated that the voice heard in the video belongs to the electrocardiogram technician.

According to the official media, the worker initially denied her involvement in the dissemination of the video, but after several contradictory statements, she asserted: “I recorded it, I didn't pass it to my husband, and I won't say anything more.”

Although the separation measure from MINSAP can be appealed, this Friday the alleged responsible party was informed that the hospital director requested the provincial health director of Havana to initiate a disqualification from professional practice.

Paulito FG had arrived at the hospital with multiple traumas, said the official spokesperson Humberto López this Friday on the National Television News (NTV).

Although a medical team consisting of intensivists, general surgery specialists, ICU nurses, and others did their best to resuscitate the singer, he did not respond to the stimuli.

Subsequently, he was taken to a room adjacent to where he received medical attention, and it was there that the electrocardiogram procedure was performed.

"This person entered with a hidden phone inside their clothing and went in recording with the hidden phone and making inappropriate comments that go against ethics and respect," said López.

Additionally, the regime's spokesperson described the event as a "public disgrace" that should "shake us": "Nothing like this can happen," he said in an attempt to "teach a lesson" and intimidate Cubans.

Recently, journalist Abdiel Bermúdez had reported in a segment of NTV about the release of graphic images related to the accident in which singer Paulo FG died.

Bermúdez stated that there should be a boundary between what is public and what is personal.

At the same time, he affirmed that, although the internet and mobile phones are blamed for this growing practice, the decision to photograph, film, and share it with friends and strangers is a voluntary choice that makes the person in question part of what he termed a "sensationalist wave."

Paulito FG: a tragic death

The tragic event that ended the life of the singer took place at the traffic light at the intersection of 12 and Malecón.

Apparently, the artist's vehicle attempted to merge onto the avenue and was struck by a tourist bus traveling along the Malecón.

A duty doctor at the Calixto García Hospital confirmed that the singer arrived at the institution in cardiac arrest, with efforts to revive him being unsuccessful.

Born on January 11, 1962, Paulo FG became one of the most influential figures in dance music in Cuba.

His career included his time with groups such as Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, Opus 13, and Dan Den, leading up to the founding of his own band, La Élite, in 1992.

His versatility and charisma made him an icon of the genre, with hits like "El bueno soy yo," "Te deseo suerte," "Con la conciencia tranquila," and "Ilusión."
