The Cuban-American congressman Carlos Giménez urged the exiled community to report the regime's repressors from Cuba who have emigrated to the United States.
Through a message on his X account (formerly Twitter), the Republican legislator shared a link to the website RepresoresCubanos.com, a platform aimed at collecting information about agents of the Cuban regime involved in persecution and repression within the island.
"If you know of any repressive accomplice of the murderous dictatorship in #Cuba, who is now living in the United States, please report them here," Giménez wrote in his message, accompanied by the hashtag #SOSCuba and linking to the mentioned platform.
According to recent reports, at least 100 Cuban repressors have managed to settle in the United States in recent years, with some even benefiting from immigration programs such as humanitarian parole or the Cuban Adjustment Act.
Investigations have revealed that former officials and agents of the Ministry of Interior (MININT) and the Ministry of Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR) have managed to settle in the country without facing legal consequences.
The denunciation initiative promoted by the congressman aims to halt this situation and allow U.S. authorities to take action against those who participated in the repression of the Cuban people.
Various exiled organizations have raised alarms about the presence of these individuals in cities like Miami and Tampa, and they emphasize the importance of denouncing those who were part of the regime's repressive apparatus.
Giménez's call adds to a growing concern within the Cuban-American community about the entry of former leaders and repressive agents into U.S. territory, a phenomenon that has sparked outrage among the victims of the dictatorship.
This statement arises in a context of growing tensions between the United States and Cuba, driven by the new Trump administration, which has hardened its stance against the Havana regime.
Giménez, in alignment with other Cuban-American Congress members such as Mario Díaz-Balart and María Elvira Salazar, has been a strong opponent of the Cuban government, denouncing its human rights violations and systematic repression.
Recently, the congressman also issued a direct warning to Miguel Díaz-Canel, stating that "what is coming for you is of biblical proportions" in reference to the pressure policies that the Trump administration plans to implement.
Moreover, he responded to the Cuban chancellor Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla following his defiant remarks against the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, reminding him that "they have trampled on an entire people in order to remain in power" and stating that "their time is short".
These recent exchanges reflect the worsening of relations between the two countries and the commitment of Cuban-American lawmakers in the U.S. Congress to pressure the Cuban regime and prevent its agents from finding refuge on American soil.
